CYNTHIA S. BUTTORFF

Cyndy Buttorff concentrates her practice primarily in the areas of estate planning, elder law, and business succession planning, charitable giving, trust and estate administration, fiduciary law issues, non-profit organizations, estate, gift, inheritance, and fiduciary tax matters. Prior to joining Weber Rose, she practiced with a large regional law firm and previously was Vice President and Manager of the Trust Tax Department for a large regional bank where she oversaw the preparation and filing of fiduciary, estate, gift, inheritance and individual tax returns of trust clients in Louisville and all affiliate banks in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.  

Ms. Buttorff advises individual clients in developing and implementing sophisticated estate and charitable gift plans, including business succession planning; counsels and represents individual and corporate fiduciary clients in administering estates and trusts, including fiduciary litigation matters; and represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service, Kentucky Department of Revenue, and Indiana Tax Department on related estate, inheritance, gift, and fiduciary income tax controversies. Ms. Buttorff advises non-profit organizations on various non-profit law issues, including formation, operations and procedures. Ms. Buttorff has presented seminars on estate, charitable and tax planning strategies and on trust and estate administration topics for the Kentucky Bar Association, Louisville Bar Association, University of Kentucky, University of Louisville, and National Business Institute. Ms. Buttorff is active in several non-profit organizations and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Christ Church United Methodist and on the Board of Beargrass-St. Matthews Historical Society. She previously served on the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law Alumni Council and the Board of Trustees for Meredith Dunn School. She enjoys gardening, golf, genealogy, and University of Louisville sports.
